- Scientist 'G' - 1 Post - Basic Pay 144200 plus allowances in Central Govt 7th Pay Matrix Level 14 - Place of posting is Kolkata, West Bengal.
Essential Qualifications and Experience :
- Post Graduate Degree in Botany with minimum 21 years experience
- OR
- PhD Degree in Botany with minimum 18 years experience
Desirable Qualifications and Experience :
- Knowledge of International Code of Plant Nomenclature
- Knowledge of one or more of the following foreign languages - Latin, German, French & Russian
- Administrative experience in research Department
Job Profiles / Responsibilities :
- Function as Director, Botanical Survey of India
- Advise Government of India on Botanic matters
- Research in taxonomy of all types of flora
- To guide, direct and supervise research work, floristic surveys, taxonomy and maintenance of Botanic Galleries of the Industrial Section, Indian Museum
- Administration of the Headquarters Office of BSI in Kolkata and its Regional Centers in different parts of the country
- Discharge of the duties of the Head of the Department of Botanical Survey of India
