- Experience (Service Qualification): Must have had active practice in Criminal Courts for a period of not less than 5 years (Explanation: The expression active practice in Criminal Courts shall include the period of service rendered by a person as a temporary Assistant Public Prosecutor, Grade-II)
Age limit details:
Cut off date for age limit calculation is 01.07.2025
Minimum age limit is 26 years completed.
Maximum age limit as follows :
36 years for UR candidates (except Destitute Widow candidates).
46 years for UR PwD candidates
50 years for UR Ex-Serviceman candidates.
There is no age limit for all Destitute Widow candidates / SC / ST / MBC
/ DNC / BC / BCM candidates.
Selection Method / Procedures :
(i) Preliminary examination for the selection of candidates for Main
examination;
- Preliminary examination is meant to serve as a screening test only and the marks obtained in the preliminary examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit
- General Studies - Degree Level - 75 MCQs
- Aptitude and Mental Ability Test - SSLC Level - 25 MCQs
- Law - Degree Level - 100 MCQs
(ii) Main examination
- The Main examination will consist of five papers in the subjects set out
- Out of which Paper-I will be qualifying in nature. Marks obtained in Paper II, Paper III, Paper IV and Paper V of Main examination and marks obtained in the Interview will be counted for ranking
- Paper I - Tamil Eligibility Test - SSLC Level - 100 Marks - Descriptive Exam in Tamil
- Paper II - Law - I - 100 Marks - Descriptive Exam in Tamil and English
- Paper III - Law - II - 100 Marks - Descriptive Exam in Tamil and English
- Paper IV - Law - III - 100 Marks - Descriptive Exam in Tamil and English
- Paper V - Law - IV - 100 Marks - Descriptive Exam in Tamil and English
(iii) Interview
- Interview 60 marks.
- Marks obtained in Paper II, Paper III, Paper IV and Paper V of Main examination and marks obtained in the Interview will be counted for ranking. The final selection will be made based on the total marks obtained by the candidates in the Main examination Paper II, Paper III, Paper IV, Paper V and Interview taken together, subject to the rule of reservation of appointments
